Family fun: Home Alone

Another tremendously popular Christmas film, Home Alone was nominated for two Oscars (original song, original score) and was the top-grossing film of 1990. Written by John Hughes (Christmas Vacation, The Breakfast Club, Planes, Trains and Automobiles) and directed by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter I & 2, Mrs. Doubtfire). With lots of slapstick violence and physical comedy, much of the peppermint wreathmovie is spent alternating between wincing (ouch) and laughing out loud.

Rated PG, 103 minutes.
